No. PayZe is intended for electronic transactions only.

Only the value of your purchase and charges (if any) will be deducted from the balance on the card, so you can use the card for more purchases later. No change will be given.

Each merchant has its own policy about accepting returned items. If a merchant does accept the return of goods purchased with a prepaid card, then the merchant can process a refund transaction, and the spending power of the card is restored. However, such credits are not immediate so please check your transaction history.

 There are several possibilities:

  • the amount of the purchase exceeds the available balance
  • the online merchant has enforced a pre-authorisation requirement requiring more funds than your purchase amount
  • the merchant is in a blocked country
  • the type of transactions is prohibited
  • your card has expired
  • you have entered an invalid PIN
  • your card has been reported lost or stolen
  • your card has been suspended
  • your card has been damaged or tampered with
  • the signature panel on the back of the card has not been signed
  • your signature on the back of the card does not match the identification you have provided to the merchant
  • the merchant does not accept UnionPay cards

PayZe Gift Cards will expire at least 36 months after the purchase date. Your card is not valid after the expiry date. Any unused value remaining on expiry will be forfeited automatically.

We encourage you to spend your funds, but after the PayZe Gift Card’s expiry date, or following cancellation for non-activation, any balance will be forfeited, and the card will be declined if you try to use it.

For your peace of mind, we strongly recommend that you download the PayZe Wallet. This gives you complete control over all your PayZe gift cards. If a PayZe card is lost or stolen, you can simply and instantly put a card on hold within the PayZe Wallet. However, always treat PayZe gift cards like cash and always keep them secure as you cannot transfer funds from a PayZe gift card.

This is a necessary charge that allows us to facilitate PayZe cards to be used globally through millions of retail outlets. All PayZe charges and fees are detailed in the Terms & Conditions Charges Schedule. Please see the Terms and Conditions click here.

Yes. Some merchants now apply a pre-authorisation hold on top of your purchase amount. This amount may vary but is at least 15% higher than the transaction value (for example: if your purchase value is $100, the merchant may require a balance of $115 to allow the transaction to proceed).  It isn’t a fee — it’s a temporary hold the merchant uses to check that enough funds are available.

If your balance isn’t high enough to cover both the purchase and the pre-authorisation amount, the transaction may be declined. Once the merchant finalises the sale, any unused portion of the hold is released back to your card.

Note: these rules are set by individual merchants – PayZe has no control over these rules.
